Heroin haul increased to 250 kgs

The heroin haul which was seized by the customs Revenue Task Force yesterday has increased to more than 250 kilogrammes,Customs Director Mali Piyasena said.

He said 1200 parcels of heroin worth more than Rs. 2.5 billion had been seized in the raid.

Four suspects including a Pakistani and the local importer were arrested yesterday by the police Western Province Intelligence Bureau in connection with the incident.(Ajith Siriwardana)

    If they are found guilty they will be be jail for a long time. GOSL must bring in laws to confiscate their wealth at least to the extent of meeting the cost when they are in jail

    Usually, these confiscated drugs go back to the importer from the back-door of the Government Analyst Department.
