Heavy rains are expected countrywide this evening and tomorrow morning, Meteorology Department said today.

Duty Meteorologist Channa Rodrigo said the Western and Southern coastal areas would be the most affected by rains tomorrow morning with heavy rains and thundershowers later in the evening.

The Department warned people to keep away from open spaces during the bouts of lightning.
