    Where was God then ?

    lima Thursday, 22 November 2012 05:40 PM

YES, HE IS A MALDIVIAN CITIZEN , SO THE PUNISHMENT TO BE CARRIED OUT IN THE LAND OF ORIGIN AND CANNOT BE GIVEN IN ANY OTHER LAND , NEXT THING IS TO FIND OUT THE GRAVITY OF THE THEFT FROM ALL SIDES WITH WITNESS , THEN COME TO A CONCLUSION BASED ON THE CURRENT ASPECT OF THE LAW OF THAT COUNTRY. FOR THE SAKE OF MUSLIM NO ONE IS AUTHORISED TO GIVE CAPITAL PUNISHMENT , UNLESS THAT PARTICULAR COUNTRY IS BEEN RULED WITH STRICT ISLAMIC LAW , THIS IS THE RULE . EVEN SAUDI ARABIA OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY IS NOT RULED BY THE ISLAMIC LAW AND PUNISHMENT THERE IS BASED ON THEIR COUNTRY LAW AND NOT ISLAMIC LAW , THOSE HAVE TO ANSWER ONE DAY

Lone Ranger Thursday, 22 November 2012 02:08 PM

Do not expect God to watch all humans on this earth. The population has grow. We need to give him a suitable punishment if he is guilty. Do not tax god.

    Shace-UK Thursday, 22 November 2012 12:07 PM

I am sorry did you say SL is a civilized country?

Imran Hussein Thursday, 22 November 2012 11:33 AM

Yes pal, thats we hear barberic killing every other day. Fazli is right this using the religion for his benifit he should be goven maximum punishment.

    Fazli Thursday, 22 November 2012 08:24 AM

He is no less than a thief forwhich the best sentence in accordance with the 'Sharia' is to chop his hands. I would say go one step further and hang him sothat it will serve as a warning for others. Shame on you.

    DireStraits Thursday, 22 November 2012 10:39 AM

I would be very careful giving money to someone who's named 'Maalu' Lathif. Isn't allowing to be robbed an equal offence to robbing another ?

    MirakRajBanda Thursday, 22 November 2012 10:10 AM

Make your point clear. Is he a Maldivian??

Frank Hilary Thursday, 22 November 2012 10:08 AM

I full agree with Fazli. He should be dealt with according to the Islamic Law. He seems to be a criminal of the highest order.

    Coolman Thursday, 22 November 2012 09:45 AM

even in the Sharia, the "chopping off hands" law is for repeated offenders only. If this is his first case, he can serve a jail term as he has a chance to re-form. This is what you get with half baked education.

    Mohamed Thursday, 22 November 2012 09:36 AM

I do not agree with you brother Fazli, he is a thief and sentenced him under Sri Lanka Legal system. But make it a double the sentenced since he played with the innocent and good hearted pilgrims.

    Mohamed Thursday, 22 November 2012 09:18 AM

shame on you !!! lots of our Msulim guys use reiligion as the cover to cheat people and has created very negative image among non muslims. we should bring these culprits and brand them pbulicly espcialy who uses regilgion to cover their sin....

    rosh Thursday, 22 November 2012 09:09 AM

There goes the barbaric aspect again.....

    malkanthi Thursday, 22 November 2012 09:12 AM

Whatever crime he has done, he is answerable to God, but you are not supposed to give verdict, as none of us are perfect in our deeds before God.

    D.jayasundera Thursday, 22 November 2012 08:59 AM

    Looks like a real scoundreal.

    rus Thursday, 22 November 2012 08:58 AM
