W.A. Venuja Nimsath from Embilipitiya Primary School was placed first in the grade-five scholarship examination with 199 marks, the Examinations Department said.

Sahani Yasodara of Pitiyegedara Primary School in Bemmulla and Fatima sama of Zahira College in Mawanella were placed third with each obtaining 197 marks, the Department said.

Adeesha Aloka of Aluthwewa Primary School in Angunukolapelessa, Dilini Thisara of Viharamaha Devi Girls College in Badulla, Nihindu Nishara De Silva of Kulupana Primary School in Pokunuwita, Charithmi Senalya of Yasodara Devi Balika Primary School in Gampaha and Ruwira Sheshan Jayaweera of Wesley College in Colombo were ranked in the fourth place with 196 marks.

The scholarship examination was held on August 17 and a total of 327,648 students sat for the examination.
