Minister Mervyn Silva requested UNP MP Karu Jayasuriya to go forward without going in reverse gear. He made these statements while addressing a meeting in Pilatiya, Kelaniya

“You symbolise the vales of Buddhism and Sinhalese tradition. You should go forward despite the defeats and downfalls,” the Minister said.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jayasuriya, who also attended  the event, said the law should be equal to both haves and the have-nots, which is not the case in the prevailing society. He also said the need for a UNP government is being widely felt by the people. (Lal S. Kumara)

There are two Dr Mervin De Silvas ; One is the father of Dayan Jayathilaka, Other from Dhutugamunu dynasty. I think both are great characters. Former one is a very distinguish journalist.
