Four dead; Seven injured in Nittambuwa accident

A head on collision between a three wheeler and a van left four people dead including a child, and seven injured at Kallagedihena junction, Nittambuwa this evening.

The people who were in the three-wheeler are from Malwana, police said.

The injured have been admitted to Gampaha Hospital, while the bodies are at the Gampaha Hospital Morgue, Police said.

Removing the speed limit is not the solution. But there should be some tolerance. If the limit is 50kmph and if they fine you for going at 51kmph it doesn't make sense. At lease there should be a tolerance of 10kmph. In the western countries that I have been, this is the case. If the speed limit is 50 you can go upto 60.

We cannot follow western countries on this until our people are disciplined and respect the law. When could the first happen and who are there to be role models for the second?
