Foreigner nabbed for theft at BMICH

A foreigner was arrested a short while ago for allegedly swallowing a diamond worth more than one million rupees at the International Gem and Jewelry show which is being held at the BMICH in Colombo, reporter said.  

The Police said that the man was identified as Chau Cahn a 32 year old Chinese national.

The owner of the stall in which the diamond was placed has seen the suspect swallow the diamond and had immediately informed the police after which the suspect was arrested.

The Cinnamon gardens police are conducting further inquiries into the incident. (Pix and tex by Indrarathna Balasooriya)

    Tamil Nadu or China is not the issue. It is just isolated incident.
