The surprising thing is there are enough fools in this country to believe there is no other corruption in this country. I read one comment some days ago saying only one case at a time can be investigated. I need to know how many officers, polititians have been convicted before on corruption charges. Very sad state for the country end of the day real loosers are the ordinary people of this country. Not Ranil, Not Sarat Fonseka

This is not proven yet!!!! Anyway, If somebody has given orders without the commanders consent, he should take the responsiblity!

    Thursday, 17 June 2010 09:33 AM

No, can't believe it. Sometimes they may have mistakenly identified someone else.

He dug his own grave because of his bad company (JVP & Mangala)

Effects can't be avoided, it is KARMA, You Reap What You Sow..the cry of dead civilians in Vanni will not leave anybody.

Meaning he has discredit the same Army through whom the war victory was obtained and for which he claimed the sole ownership.
I really do not know what category of hero he is.

    Thursday, 17 June 2010 08:18 AM

What a sad situation, Victory day is going to be held with a public holiday. The real hero who made this happened needs permission from government to attend his mother in laws funeral.

    Thursday, 17 June 2010 08:58 AM

No exceptions, he has to pay the price too. At least the government has given permission to attend the mother-in laws funeral. Some do not get permission to attend even mother or father's funeral when they are in the jail.

Can't agree. He backs any international investigation on war crimes, to disprove it. Remember he repeatedly emphasized that he led the war on completely ethical grounds meeting all the international accords on war.

Heroes must behave like heroes. Engaged with a bad company.

    Thursday, 17 June 2010 08:47 AM

local boy or a beach boy?

    Thursday, 17 June 2010 08:47 AM

he revealed the truth... what to do... some times forces are barbaric....

    Thursday, 17 June 2010 08:45 AM

Dear Local boy. why dont you go back and see how many ministers have made and done so many things to tarnish the image happily enjoying luxury life. Why aren't they questioned and put behind bars. Why only the war hero. Just because he contested the Presidential elections??????

    Thursday, 17 June 2010 08:43 AM

I think this situation he created by him self. Considering the latest comment he made to media, still he has not found the way to keep his patriotic charactor anymore .So we feel very sorry of him .

    Thursday, 17 June 2010 08:39 AM

I think no matter what allegaton are made against SF, as they are not proven yet, he should be invited to the V Day celebration. He is the key man who led the military victory!

    Thursday, 17 June 2010 08:29 AM

Wijebahu , do not forget his ugly comments to foreign media which create huge pressure on government and certainly brings discredit to entire nation.

    Thursday, 17 June 2010 08:24 AM

Hmmm... Very sad moment for him... Feel sorry about his situation... we are with u
