JHU Member of Parliament and former party leader the Venerable Ellawala Medhananda thero says he has no plans to resign from the party but remains undecided if he will take part in future central committee meetings of the party.
The venerable thero, who was replaced recently as party leader following the national convention of the JHU, told Daily Mirror online added that he had only received a blank letter and that he was not aware of the meeting to change the leadership of the party.
However the Venerable Ellawala Medhananda thero added that as a founding member of the JHU he had no need to resign from the party.
When contacted National Organizer of the JHU Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe told Daily Mirror online that the Ven. Ellawala Medhananda had not attended some of the previous central committee meeting of the party.
He also said that the Ven. Ellawala Medhananda had earlier claimed that he had not received a letter but now had changed his story. (Daily Mirror online)
