    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 10:10 AM

A fair trial and the General will be acquitted. But the harassment by the Army blokes will go on until ....?

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 10:13 AM

You mean...law abiding citizens like Mervin ?. Huh.....

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 10:26 AM

    Well Said !!!!

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 10:35 AM

Who asked for the tape? Not every Dick and Harry could get it. Now the court will ask. At that point if she fails, then only we can conclude. Please wait.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 10:39 AM

YOu think taking someone to court is harassment? You must be pretty uneducated to make that statement

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 10:59 AM

willows -why are you getting exited -listen to his speeches when he was at the helm -you will know who he is

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 11:02 AM

This is not proved yet. Only Fredricka said, but SF denied!

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 11:24 AM

Then what about all these ministers? Are they below the law simply because they are fellow men of the President. Law should be equal to all. What about the allegations saying one of the judges of the court martial has taken a monthly salary from LTTE. What about that then

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 11:33 AM

    100% agree with eran

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 12:07 PM

SF has all the freedom to come clean before the courts. So let the CM and the Courts decide the charges against him.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 10:10 AM

    Agree 100%.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 12:57 PM

    Who's fault?

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 12:58 PM

MK did you fight the tigers? Probably not. You probably sat at home...

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 01:06 PM

but got 3 rd highest votes in Gampaha

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 02:59 PM

But he confirmed it in public rallies, and Derana has the video clip. So this is not relevant solely to SundayLeader article....

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 03:49 PM

if what SF says is all true, wont SF and the JVP drag Fedrica to courts.. for publishing a fabricated story.....???????.knowing the type of character he is.....he is a mess as a politician..he is definitely better off minus his mouth..

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 08:01 PM

Fredrica had, apparently, recorded what he had said, so the courts will listen to the tape and then we will finally know who the liar is - Mrs. Janz or Mr. Fonseka.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 11:08 PM

Poor Fonseka, he's the only fellow being quizzed all the time!

    Thursday, 06 May 2010 03:38 AM

Well he's being given a massive vote to be elected to the parliament, so I guess thats the way to go.

    Thursday, 06 May 2010 05:22 AM

    Dear Banda,
You seem to know everything happened inside the army ! Can you prove that the Commander of the army enjoyed a lavish life while the others toiled tirelessly putting their lives at stake to free the country ?

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 09:23 AM

We should respect the court. SF will prove himself correct in court. Atleast then, hopefully this will end. SF clearly mentioned over and over and gave a statement to all the media saying he never mentioned anything like that. Its all a wrong interpretation by Fredrica Jaanz . SF is a hero. He would never betray his army. Its sad that people forgot their past so easily.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 08:46 AM

    now that's progress.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 08:47 AM

SF get your gab in gear before you talk. No one has any sympathy for you when you start talking about your time when you held high office in the Army. Blatant talk will take you know where but create a down fall for yourself.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 08:51 AM

I thought the statement was denied

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 08:52 AM

    COURT?.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 08:56 AM

He is not above the law. Calistus; it is not harassement. It is the due process of the law. He has so much to answer, including the US dollars stashed away in a bank. The law abiding citizens have to appreciate the process followed by the courts of Sri Lanka.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 08:56 AM

Yeah... awsome... Let's ask everyone who commented on this web site regarding the last days of the war also to be summoned to court... What a laugh riot... what's next ?

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 08:58 AM

THIS IS TIME TO BE FORGET AND FORGIVE.BY THE WAY WHO IS GOOD IN THIS WORLD?.FREE THE GENERAL.HE IS NOT FIT FOR TO BE A POLITICIAN.HE WILL LOOSE ELCTIONS.HE IS A GOOD FIGHTER AND LEADER FOR MILITARY,BUT NOT POLITICS.LET HIM HAVE A GOOD TIME WITH HIS FAMILY.ALSO LET HIM UNDERSTAND THROUGH HIS EXPERIENCE,POLITICS IS NOT SUITABLE FOR HIM.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 08:59 AM

Oh oh, now they are slowly shifting to the Civil Courts. Who complained to the Courts regarding the statement made to the newspapers. How much witch hunting by powers that be.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 09:05 AM

let him pay for the sins committed

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 09:18 AM

He flatly denied the newspaper quote, Fredrica failed to produce her so called tape recorder so can we get this thing done with please??

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 08:43 AM

There seems to be no end in sight for this harrassment of a man who defeated the Tigers.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 09:30 AM

Might is right this is whats happening

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 09:30 AM

good, this man should be given maximum punishment for this .good lesson for everybody who betray the country for power and money

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 09:34 AM

Saman what sins, freeing Sri Lanka from the clutchers of LTTE???

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 09:35 AM

    Sins by defeating LTTE???

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 09:48 AM

well said..Its common knowledge that SF made a big mistake by dragging to his campaign the last week of war,the whole white flag thing & blaming gotabhaya&shavendra who are heroes to the patriots just like SF.That was his main downfall.I hope he has learnt his lesson by now & it's time all this drama came to an end.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 09:53 AM

freeing SL from LTTE is NOT the sin he commited....
campaigning for presidency is NOT the sin he commited....
but dragging other "war heroes"like shavendra, gota and ridiculing the supreme armed forces of sri lanka and tarnishing the GLORY of that famous victory IS THE SIN HE COMMITED..

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 09:57 AM

The man who saved the country from the clutches of terrorism is a betrayer? and prabhakaren must be a patriot to you then. Tables have surely turned.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 10:01 AM

God bless courts in Sri Lanka.

    Wednesday, 05 May 2010 10:09 AM

It does not mean he can break the law. He is the ultimate disgrace to our heroic forces, who really fought against LTTE while he was enjoying a lavish life unparallell in the military history of Sri Lanka. Wake-up fellows.
