Police officers believed to be from the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) prevented journalists from entering the Court premises of the Colombo Fort magistrate this afternoon to cover the case over the Mattakuliya incident.

When some of the journalists made inquiries from the police headquarters they were told instructions were not given to prevent the journalists from covering the Court case raising strong questions as to why the CCD were blocking the scribes from entering the court.

At least 185 suspects were produced in Court today over the tensions in Mattakuliya during the weekend where a group clashed with the police over an injury sustained to a suspect taken into custody. The suspects were meanwhile granted bail. (Daily Mirror online)

Public voted enbloc to MR and his party for this type of culture. It is no use blaming anybody other than the public who voted.

The corrupt Police do not want the Press & Public to know the truth. Not a surprise the way things are moving recently. Authoritarian tactics galore.
