A special team from the Criminal Investigation Department (which was investigating an incident in which Minister Rishard Bathiudeen had allegedly threatened the Mannar Magistrate over the phone) recorded a statement from the Mannar Magistrate, Police Spokesman SP Ajith Rohana said.

He said that statements were also recorded from five lawyers at the Mannar Magistrate’s Court by the team, which was led by a Superintendent of Police.
CID sources said that the CID had not yet recorded a statement from Mr. Bathiudeen. The sources said the CID would record his statement later. (Srinath Prasanna Jayasuriya)

I agree with the comment that the video should be telecast on all channels at prime time. As we have the right to to know the truth. No one should be allowed to be above the law.
