Sri Lanka customs has been very corrupt for decades and especially on motor vehicle and textile imports, among many. Sri Lanka Import Law prescribes motor cycles of less than three years but motor cycles over 10 years are imported by mendacity and false Chamber of Industries certificates that certify that the cycles are less than three years. In 1993 I had sent to the customs a book published by the Motor industry of Japan that gazettes chassis numbers and the year of manufacture. Also the customs have been duped by the wrong information that motor cycles of less tha 125 CC are not registered in Japan to ship without the required cancellation of Registration document in Japan. In fact every motorcycle is registered and it is mandatory and has a Registration number, which includes 50 c.c. motorcycles.

Congrats ! One community in Sri Lanka abuse the Custom to flourish their business. Hope new DG will have a thought of it.Also once an Indian delegation met a lady DG few yrs back and they came up with bad comments indicating the then DG can not speak english and should not have discussions with foreigners or to use interpreters in lieu.A shame on SL administrative service.
