CEB protests again

A heavy traffic jam has been reported in the Slave Island area due to a protest by workers of the Ceylon Electricity Board in front of the CEB Headquarters in Fort. They are protesting demanding for a 45% pay hike instead of the hike of 25% that was granted to them.

    45% pay hike is much more lucrative than the pay hikes any of the Blue chip conglomerates would give or even afford.

    This 25% is for three years and that means 8.33% per year, government is not telling that. Other public servants got 10%. so why not CEB.CPC and NWS&DB?
