One must take a serious look at the tremors in Beruwala if there are repetitions with higher magnitudes, a geologist said today.
Professor Kapila Dahanayake a geologist attached to the University of Peradeniya told Daily Mirror that one should see whether repetitions occur with higher magnitude. “If more tremors occur in the coming days and the magnitude increases, it will be a dangerous sign,” he said.
“The 3.7 magnitude tremor which occurred on Thursday is nothing serious. These kinds of tremors could happen any time in any part of the world,” he added.(Yohan Perera)
