Engineer Vijitha Herath, former chairman of Sri Lanka Insurance and Ceylon Electricity Board, today assumed duties as the chairman of LITRO Gas Lanka Limited.
He told the Daily Mirror that he had taken this opportunity to provide a solution to the existing gas shortage in the country.
He also stated that he intends to resolve the issue to some extent within the next month and restore it the following month.
Prior to being appointed to the rank, Herath previously served as the Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board from 2019 to 2021.
