Two young men who were engaged in racing on their motorcycles in the Moronthuduwa area on the Bandaragama-Kalutara Main Road last night have been killed after the two motorcycles crashed head-on.

Police said the deceased were identified as 18-year old boys and residents of Wadduwa.

Police investigations have revealed that the deceased were engaged in racing with a group of other youth when they met with their fate.

This seems to be the second incident after the Bokundara one. Parents should be strict with their children when giving them bikes...

May they RIP, no point blaming anyone but some parents assume kids under 21 are mature enough to take proper decisions when with peers

Racing on the main road? Don't they have any regard for the safety of other road users? Why are the police turning a blind eye to these dangerous activities?

A very good punishment to the parents. Two dangerous persons RIP.

Parents themselves do not have control over them. These yakko children are the type who will assault their parents, teachers or any elderly person.

Side effects of YouTube. But hundreds of youth have succeeded in life because of YouTube too. Parents should try their best to isolate their kids from bad friendships at this age.

2 future murderers are gone in the dusk. Its a good thing these two black bugs killed themselves before they hit some bystander and kill them.

So now what? Call for general election?, Protest? Suspend the OIC? Inquiry on the RDA for having a dangerous road?

Open the SLAF owned Katukurunda Race track on weekends under strict supervision of competent motor racing people. A nominal fee can be charged for the usage of the track. This will prevent loss of life and limb of riders and other public road users. I am sure the SL Motor Cycle Club and Agents for Motor Cycles will support and facilitate this process.

This is really bad thing to happen in Sri Lanka..why do they do this racing at the expense of their own lives ?? I think we must introduce health and safety subjects at least for GCSE school children..it can be part and parcel of PE lessons but must have one examination paper on this issue of health and safety issues .. First aid classes What health food to eat What bad food to avoid ? How to drive carefully and road ethics and manners . How to avoid accidents at work place£; houses and other offices . What to do in time of emergency. All these are part of parcels of modern life and schools must introduce some good lessons on this subject..why not experts on this do something like this .. Sri Lanka is too late in innovative teachings and wait till some accidents or landlines happened then try to find solutions.. don't be reactive but be proactive

Is the story correct? Wasn't the police chasing which led to this fateful accident?
