Deputy Minister Palitha Thewarapperuma was arrested when he surrendered to the Meegahathenna Police a short while ago.
He was arrested on charges of unlawful assembly and illegal entry to the Meegahathenna Primary school.

Add the charges of obstructing a government officer from working, intimidation, assault and attempted suicide also. In the meantime, the President and the PM must dismiss him from the deputy minister post. They have enough evidence and it does not need a court case to expel from the post.
