Fifty-one suspects arrested in connection with the Thambuththegma incident were granted bail by Thambuththegma Magistrate Ramila Nideeshani today.
They were arrested on February 28 following a protest carried out by a group of farmers against a move to use water from the Rajanganaya Tank for a water supply project.
They were released with a surety of Rs. 100,000 each by the magistrate. (Saman Kumara)
