The wife of a popular businessman and an employee have been arrested over the death of the businessman in Negombo under mysterious circumstances, the police said.
Police Spokesman SDIG Ajith Rohana said the death of the businessman was reported on October 3, 2020.
However, later the police have received information about the death and subsequently the Negombo Police initiated an investigation.
The wife of the diseased businessman and one of a employees of the company have been arrested by the police under suspicion in connection with the death.
Both were produced before the Negombo Magistrate's Court and remanded till June 30, the spokesman said.
He said the body of businessman will be exhumed to conduct further investigation.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
