The Chairman of the Talawakelle-Lindula Urban Council and six others have been arrested for hosting a party at a private banquet hall near the Upper Kotmale Reservoir in Talawakele today.

The Talawakele police arrested the Chairman and others following a complaint made to the 119 emergency unit that the chairman was holding a party involving several supporters of the Ceylon Workers' Congress.

Police said another group that was attending the party fled when the police arrived at the scene.

Police have also taken into custody the cab belong to the Urban Council.

Police said legal action would be taken against the Chairman and six others for violating the quarantine law.

They would be directed for self-quarantine, police said.( Ranjith Rajapaksa)

Ok, bail them out or send them out to centre soon and be finished with it as usual. All rules and regulations are for ordinary citizen silva only. What have you done for the party hosted by padeniya, the politician who had a wedding during the 2nd lockdown, Thonda's funeral procession etc?? All under the carpet??

These so called politicians are a curse to this nation. Instead of setting an example to the people and their followers they violate the health guidelines that are in operation and put the general public at risk. This shows the caliber of politicians we have in Srilanka and their bankrupt arrogance and ignorance towards the society.
