Seven suspects have been arrested in connection with a video circulated in social media in respect of an incident where an individual was attacked by a group of men in presence of the police.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said police initiated investigations into the content of the video and traced the place as in Bandarawatte in Biyagama police area.
Accordingly, Biyagama police have arrested the seven suspects and have identified another four suspects in connection with the same offenses. Investigations are underway to arrest them as well, he said.
The suspects have been remanded till January 26 after being produced in the Mahara Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Shouldn't Action be taken against the Police Officers who just stood there and watched.

Any statement from the Police Spokesperson on the action contemplated by the Police against the police officers who were present at the time of the incident and shown in the video to flee the scene. Sir should outsource the police to the the social media activists.
