State Minister for Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said that it has been proposed to establish a separate court to hear tax-related cases.
He said there is a massive delay in existing tax-related matters due to the absence of a separate court for legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, the minister said a systematic programme has been prepared to streamline the payment of taxes by eliminating the existing weaknesses and shortcomings in the current tax collection.
He said the proposal will be presented to the President next week.
He made these remarks while speaking to the media in Ruwanwella.
"In order to make the tax system more efficient, the electronic system will be implemented through the implementation of the RAMIS project," he said.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

Where is the separate court installed for financial fraud under Yahapalana Govt. when Talata Authukorala was the Justice minister. Why it has become defunctive

Having separate tax court is not the solution. The Rules observed by courts must be amended for expedition of hearings. About a year ago SC cadre of Justices was increased but the clients receive long dates for hearing.

About the taxes owned to government by politicians for many years ..shame on them on them to live in public money and yet do not pay tax

Inland Revenue officers will not allow electronic systems to operate properly as they will have less chance of getting bribes. First, investigate how those working in IRD have so much wealth, luxury houses and cars. How can a person earning Rs 50k a month lead such luxury lives. It does not add up. Same goes to politicians.
