The Sri Lanka Government is deeply concerned over the recent escalation of violence in Ukraine, the Foreign Ministry said.
The government urged all parties concerned to exercise maximum restraint and work towards the immediate cessation of hostilities, in order to maintain peace, security and stability in the region.
Also the government emphasized the need for concerted efforts by all parties concerned to resolve the crisis through diplomacy and sincere dialogue.

Couple of cowards. Just like China.
Concern Friday, 25 February 2022 01:05 PM
The world will appreciate your concern if you fall in line with the other western countries and impose some sanctions against Russia.

The platitudes of the spineless. Condemn the outrageous invasion and acknowledge that Russia has made itself a pariah state whose only friends are similarly repressive and autocratic.

When all democratic countries take firm actions, you follow coward China. This war and the sanctions from the West will also have big influence on your tourism and trade with Russia.

Why not condemn Russia for the invasion? You can not as they are backed by the Chinese. Please follow the non align policy of Mrs. B.

Tell the FM to run to Ukraine and help that government. We have far worse problems at home.

Don't worry about Ukrine. Our trauma is worse than Ukrine.

The Sri Lanka Government is not even shallowly concerned about its own people but harping about a distant country. Nandasena should pull out his head and listen to the plight of the people on the road out side his door.

This can happen in Sri Lanka. Look after all communities equally well.

Do not worry about others problems. Sort the issues at home the soaring cost of living. Jokers who stated there were no shortages, must be blind.

SL is concerned over recent escalation of violence in Ukraine, but not violence in SL.

Let us hope this simplistic FM or anyone else in GoSL will NOT issue any statement condemning Russia!! MM
