SJB MPs will boycott Parliament continuously if Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene fails to ensure their security, MP Mujibur Rahman said today.
MP Rahman told the Daily Mirror that SJB MPs will continue to boycott if the Speaker fails to provide them with security."We will attend the sessions only if Speaker informs us that our security is confirmed.
Mr. Rahman who also held a press conference at the Opposition Leader's office said MPs represent his party decided to walk out as some of the government MPs tried to manhandle MP Manusha Nanayakara at the lobby on Saturday. "We regret the failure by the Speaker to penalize those MPs who misbehaved." Even our government failed to take action against MPs who misbehaved during the previous rule," he said. (Yohan Perera)
