Samagi Jana Balawegaya ( SJB) has called for an explanation from parliamentarians Vadivel Suresh and Rajitha Senaratne for having acted against the party's decision to vote against the motion to remove the Public Utilities Commission Chairman from his post.
Letters signed by Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella had called the MPs to tender an explanation within seven days stating why they went against the party decisions.
MP Suresh voted in favour of the motion while MP Senaratne abstained during the voting. It was reported that Dr. Senaratne was absent during voting in support of the motion.

Nothing will happen ,these incidents are very common in these two parties and there is a strongly likelihood that SJB may join UNP in the near future . It’s not surprising as they always want power for their personal benefit which is their main goal.

They are going against party policies for money and nothing else. They have no regard for betterment of the country. Of course one also has to see whether policies of the party is conducive to the situ but in SL politicians only work for money.
SJB opposing for the sake of it, no good reason Wednesday, 31 May 2023 08:27 AM
Sajith's party has no purpose except to try get him to be President. No other use for it. Previous PUCSL chairman was national disgrace, who aligned himself with religious leaders to hide his electricity resale and other business activity. No one speaks well of him in parliament, and the fool now wants to be President. Vadivel Suresh knows SJB is no good for upcountry Tamils, and it is good he doesn't just follow SJB lead like another dumb ox.
