Royal College tightened their grip on the 144th Battle of the Blues with two wickets after lunch, leaving S. Thomas' on  for 6 after 45 overs, still 186 runs adrift. 

Thomian opener Senadhi Bulankulama's dogged resistance was ended after the break, dismissed for 40, with the Royalists adding the wicket of Charuka Peiris for 17. 

Mahith Peiris was not out on 22, wirh Senesh Hettiarachchi aiding him in a rebuilding effort, on 6.
