Pushpika De Silva who was stripped off her crown of Mrs. Sri Lanka 2021, by reigning Mrs. World Caroline Jurie, at a beauty pageant held last evening, will be re-crowned following a media briefing tomorrow, event organizers said.

Pushpika is presently in hospital seeking treatment after her assistant said she had suffered injuries to her scalp after the crown was violently pulled off her head by Jurie.

Pushpika has also lodged a police complaint against Jurie and Chula Padmendra, who supported Jurie's actions on stage.

Jurie had waited till all the judges and VIP guests had departed the show and then stormed on stage claiming that Pushpika was a divorcee and hence did not deserve the crown. She was then seen taking the crown away and placing it on the head of the first runner up.

The incident has received wide attention today.

Whatever the case may be she couldn’t be stripped off her crown in such an arbitrarily manner after she was officially crowned . She must seek legal action for physical torture and harrasment

It was very unprofessional behaviour of former Mrs World. Mrs world organisation should do something about former Mrs world behaviour. What ever the rules there are panel of judges and organisers to seek the qualifications of the contestants. Former Mrs world doesn’t have any right to removed the crown of the winner in that manner. It looks very cheap and rude to humiliate another mother in front of an audience. If I am Pushpika, I will take action against former Mrs world.
