President Gotabaya Rajapaksa should intervene to ensure that a proper investigation is conducted on the grenade incident in Borella Church, UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene said today.
“Political games will affect Sri Lanka’s security adversely and therefore the President should intervene and ensure that a proper investigation is carried out with regard to the church incident,” Mr. Wijewardene said while speaking to some party activists in Biyagama.
“Masterminds who are trying to fulfil political aspirations by negotiating religious harmony should be uncovered,” he added.
Also, Mr Wijewardene said cabinet should intervene to resolve the issue arisen between the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and the power crisis as a whole. He said the CPC had refused to supply fuel to CEB as the latter had not paid for years. “This situation should be looked into as CEB does not supply power to people free of charge,” Mr. Wijewardene said.
“We have noticed that CEB is engaged in power interruptions despite the assurances given by the subject minister that there will be no power cuts,” he added.

The statements by the defence Secretary and the minister for law and order sounded defensive rather than being alarmed by the very dangerous finding. The results of an explosion can damage their reputation immensely. Senseless defensive reaction.

This guy is about as relevant in current politics as a monkey sitting far away on a tree, eating bananas, interrupting his eating every few weeks , to pass gas and make a pronouncement of the blindingly obvious. Meanwhile the forest burns. Is Ruwan, a UNP junior or senior? May be once Ruwan turns 70, he will finally become a senior for sure and be crowned UNP leader official and head of a zero man show.

What a sordid state of affairs. The president should intervene for everything as the officials are not carrying out their duties well. This is quite obvious.
