While saying that the people’s behaviour during last the three days was not satisfactory, Director-General of Health Services Dr Asela Gunawardena said the authorities would have to further tighten restrictions if people’s behaviour continues to be irresponsible in the period ahead.
Addressing the media, he said people had taken the health practices for granted when the island-wide restrictions were lifted.
“As the restrictions would be lifted further, it is of utmost importance that people act with a sense of responsibility while strictly adhering to health guidelines, he said.
He also stressed in a situation where there are over 2,000 COVID-19 case are reported daily, people’s responsible behaviour is absolutely crucial to prevent further spread of the virus.
