Sri Lanka's top order batsman Pathum Nissanka is unlikely to be in the final eleven for the second Test against India, it is learnt.
According to highly placed sources in Bangalore, the 23-year-old right handed batsman has a back problem.
"He went to the ground for the practice but did not bat," the source confirmed.
"He has been continuously playing and of late having back problems."
"His participation in the 2nd Test will only be decided on Friday but most likely he will be rested."
In the meantime, former Netherlands Head Coach, Anton Roux has been appointed as the new fielding coach of Sri Lanka.
It is yet to be known whether he would be attached with the national team at the High Performance Centre.
Roux will end his assignment with Trent Bridge to join Sri Lanka as the fielding coach.
