Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa left for India a short while ago on a four-day state visit on the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The official visit is the first overseas visit undertaken by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa following his election as Prime Minister.
During the visit from today, February 7 to 11, the Prime Minister will call on Indian President Ramnath Kovinth and hold high-level bilateral discussions with his Indian counterpart, Foreign Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and senior officials of the Indian Government.
