The no confidence motion against Minister Udaya Gammanpila was handed over to Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene today.
The motion was handed over by Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella at the Speaker's office last morning. Around 43 MPs have signed the motion according to Mr. Kiriella.
As per the motion, the ten allegations have been made against minister Gammnpila. This include failing in his duty of obtaining cabinet's approval for the fuel price hike under section 43(1) of the constitution, failure to follow the government procedures under section 27 of the constitution, failure to convert CPV into a financially viable institution and failure to provide the benefit of global price reduction to people last year.
SJB has already mentioned that the motion will be withdrawn if the government reduce the fuel prices and restore the earlier price.(Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardane)

With this kind of nonsense the parliament is wasting time, because the important matters will be decided by the Great Dictator alone.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! PLEASE GET ON WITH DEVELOPING OUR COUNTRY. WE pay ALL of YOU a Salary and in addition an Allowance for each and every Attendance. In our jobs we get a Salary and if we exceed leave entitlement there's a Pay Cut. There's no 'Attendance Allowance' whatsoever and we pay for our Transport to and from Work. Nero playing the fiddle while Sri Lanka 'is burning' for last 70 years or so! We can see the Development of our elected representatives - their living standards elevating from Push Cycle to Motorised V8s. Fuel Price 'hike-too' also paid by our Taxes.

Taxpayers money to pay salaries of MPs just to sling mud at each other and argue all the time. No productive outcome at all!
