A total of 948 persons were arrested in a special crimes prevention operation conducted in the Western Province yesterday.
Police said the operation was conducted from 7 a.m to 5 p.m yesterday.
Accordingly, a total of 398 suspects against whom arrest warrants have been issued were among those arrested.
Also, 405 suspects were arrested in connection with other criminal offences during the raid.
