A sailor attached to the Sri Lanka Navy had fallen from the top floor of the Gaffoor Building which is under renovation on Baron Jayatilake Mawatha in Colombo Fort.
Police said the building is being renovated by the Sri Lanka Navy and the victim, a 34-year-old resident of Kandaketiya fell from the building yesterday.
He died after being admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo.
The Fort police are conducting further investigations.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

A sailor should be at sea and not on a top of a building. mismanagement to the core. Nanadaena thinks people in fancy dress can be do anything.

Was he not wearing a “ Harness “ to protect him from falls of this nature. Please introduce immediately. Make it a rule of law not only for the Navy, for every one working on building tops etc,etc

RIP sailor. Very disheartened to see the comments of the readers. What can this poor soul can do when he has to execute the orders he has been asked to to do .Please exercise empathy in situations like this
