The rains over the island are likely to increase during the next few days, the Meteorology Department said today.
“Rains of more than 100 mm are expected at some places in the Uva, Eastern, North-Central, Central and Sabaragamuwa Provinces. Fairly heavy rains of more than 75 mm are likely at some places in Western, North-Western and Southern Provinces,” it said.
The Met Department said wind speeds may increase to 40 kmph over the North-Central and North-Western Provinces and in the Hambantota District.(Yohan Perera)
