A man, who was arrested today on charges of threatening President Maithripala Sirisena in the social media, was remanded till May 6, by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today.
The suspect, a resident of Yakkala, was arrested by the CID at the Bandaranaike International Airport today. He had been deported from Malaysia as he had been staying there without a valid visa. (FT)

this is nothing to do with media freedom. Threatened to head of the state is a crime and he should be given maximum punishment for his comments published over the net.
