Former cricketer Lasith Malinga posted a special message on Facebook thanking social media users for helping him track down a nine-year-old boy whose bowling action had caught his attention.
In a message, Malinga said he spoke to the parents of nine-year-old Dineth Anuhas of Weerawila to discuss the possibility of coaching the child to play cricket at school.
He said the child whose bowling action had caught his attention, has the capability of becoming a better bowler than him, if Dineth wishes to play cricket at the school level.

This shows How Mailinga appreciate our young players and it is indeed a great kindness and curiosity of Malinga to do this ...Many people don't look into this event as Malinga did ...Finding out our talent and skills is part of and parcel of our cricket board and Mailinga went beyond his official duty to do this for our country...we should appreciate this ..this shows much he love this sport and this show how keen he is to promote this sport

There are so many talented crickets in the country not been selected because of their religion see what happened after Muralidaran / Mahroof left no Hindu or Muslim players selected for the national team same thing happening for under 19 cricket and school level cricket selectors are selecting from the popular school/and their religion - non Buddhist can play for SSC very sad.

No side arm action please. The batsmen are troubled with the speed as well as the bounce. So, Pathirana doesn't get the required bounce as desired with his side arm action. At WACA, it would have been devastating with good length balls.

@ Marispala; You are wrong and dreaming. Imran Khan played for Sri Lanka A. So, opportunity is there but no talented players. Can you please name one and have a fundamental right case to support to bear any validity?

Don't we have young talent in the North, East, hill country and North Central province? Do they play Elle instead of Cricket? Cut the damn ethnocentrism and racism and look into these areas. I guarantee you will find plenty of talent.
