It was reported that Mahaveerar Day celebration was held at the Jaffna University premises despite the directive made by the Jaffna University Vice-Chancellor.
Earlier a notice had been issued by the Jaffna University’s VC prof. K. Kandasami directing students not to observe the Mahaveerar Day within the campus on November 26 and 27.
That notice also warned that legal action would be taken against the students and Deans of the Faculties who were found to be involved in celebrating the Mahaveerar Day. (Romesh Madushanka)

Only in Lanka! If any uni in the West attempted to commemorate ISIS fighters, it would be swamped by TID or equivalent, and closed down.
