International financial organizations have agreed to provide future financial support to our country, Finance State Minister Ranjith Siambalapitiya said.
He said this while responding to questions raised by journalists about the discussion held yesterday in the Avissawella area on the present economic situation.
"A special round table talks to discuss about the future of economic stabilization and the reforms needed for it," he said.
The World Bank (WB) Vice President, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Vice President, the International Financial Institution Chief Executive Officers, special leaders of international financial institutions, the President, the Foreign Minister, the Central Bank Governor, and several others participated in the discussion.
During the meeting, the state minister said the government's program was approved and lauded by these financial bodies. (Chatuanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)

It’s not how much aid we get what matters more, it’s how prudently we use them and more importantly how cunningly we syphon the ‘commissions' to our pocket.

No financial aid will address Sri Lanka's financial issues unless the corruption at the highest level is addressed first.

Very unlikely considering our Fitch rating and history of default. It is required to feed us with these falsehoods to keep us complacent. Also strange that we clever dickies have no internal mechanism for sorting out our financial woes

I don't know if anyone wants to lend to a bunch of crooks who plundered their previous loans. People are led up the garden path always showing the carrot in the future.

In the past , China helped with lavish financial support to bring the country to its present state. Now Siyambalapitiya must assure the country that the financial assistance these In'tl Financial Bodies have agreed to provide will not lead to the same garbage dump.

Great opportunity for the ministers to loot the country one more time.
