Steps would be taken to release a stock of imported rice which is sold only at Lanka Sathosa to all supermarket chains within the next week, Trade Minister Shehan Semasinghe said.
He tweeted that the maximum retail price of 1 Kg of Nadu rice is Rs 145.00 and 1 Kg of Samba rice is Rs 175.00.
He also said a customer can purchase a maximum of 5 kg at a time.
