A 42-year-old woman had been arrested with seven packets containing Ice and 38 pills of narcotic substance at a canteen at a school in Malwathuhiripitiya in Gampaha this morning, the Police said.
They said the suspect woman was operating the canteen at the school.
She would be produced in the Gampaha Magistrate's Court.

@Tissa Fernando whilst punishment should be given to those involved in the drug trade. Apprehending the small fish will not solve this problem we need to eradicate this menace with netting the drug Kingpins starting from the Parliament since many have been identified but no constructive measures are taken to bring these culprits to face the law as money and political influence have been the inhibiting factors that have been instrumental in not breaking this spider network comprising of various personnel including the guardians of the law, big time procurers with international connections and not plugging the narcotics taken into custody which have found their way into the market. Even when some politicians having clean sheets try to make a headway in breaking into this nefarious activity many obstacles are faced by them culminating in death threats to them and their families. If this is to be totally eradicated the Kingpins who are indicted should be punished like the Mid.East
