Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe issued guidelines with regard to the opening of cinema halls on June 27.
The Instructions issued in response of the request made by Secretary to the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Cultural and Religious Affairs Bandula Harischandra.
“The Covid-19 epidemic is now under control. It is imperative to establish a systematic program for cinema halls among the steps taken to prevent the re-emergence of Covid-19 epidemic,” the Director General said.
It is advised to adhere strictly to these guidelines through Cinema Hall Organizers, cinema hall Groups and the management of cinema halls, under guidance of the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Cultural and Religious Affairs. It is imperative that all parties adhere to these guidelines.
Although the focus is on opening cinema halls on June 27, cinema halls should be opened only by adhering to these guidelines.
The cinema halls can be opened only after handing over the declaration of consent completed by the head of the hall administration to the Public Health Inspector of the area, ensuring that each cinema hall adheres to the health guidelines provided. A copy of the same should be furnished to the respective Local Authorities.
The guidelines are also published in the official website of the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medical Services.
