Both Government and Opposition MPs today condemned the killing of a Sri Lankan national by an extremist mob in Pakistan.
Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena told Parliament that the Government expresses its condolence over the death.
He said the Government praised Premier Imran Khan's intervention to bring the perpetrators before the law.
Minister Bandula Gunawardena requested the Speaker to intervene and bring the matter to the attention of Pakistani Parliament through its Speaker in view to mete out justice to the victim and ensure safety of other Sri Lankan workers who live and work in Pakistan.
SJB MP Ranjith Madduma Bandara said the opposition also condemned the incident and requested the Government to intervene and mete out justice to the victim.(Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan perera)
