The Chairman of the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB) was advised to vacate his post over charges of corruption, sources said.
They said the decision was announced by the president this evening. Meanwhile, the Director General of the Bureau has been sent on compulsory leave.
Earlier, several officials have been ejected from their duties for being negligent towards their responsibilities and alleged to have been corrupt.
