Claiming that fuel supply was restricted during the last few days, Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara said today the required diesel and petrol would be released to the market from tomorrow.
He told Parliament that the daily supply of diesel and petrol was limited to 3,200 MTs and 2,800 MTs respectively during the last few days from the daily requirement of 5,400 MT of diesel and 3,400 MT of petrol.
He said 5,000 MT of diesel and 3,500 of petrol would be released to the market from tomorrow. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)

FM and the PM says there will be shortage for at least for three weeks, whereas our Energy Minister says everything will be normal from tomorrow. Who is correct??
Mohammed Ameen Tuesday, 07 June 2022 01:30 PM
Who is correct PM or the Minister. PM says next 3 weeks will be tough but the minister says to return to normal from tomorrow.

So the PM does not know what is happening in the country, he says there will be a tough time next 3 weeks

Your father told the youths in 70s a similar story to bring you up to this position!

Is this fellow living in a country different from the PM? PM just said next 3 weeks will be tough and urged people not to buy fuel to stock.

Fuel supply: PM says next three weeks will be tough (Daily Mirror) What a joke
vince Tuesday, 07 June 2022 02:33 PM
he says things will be ok, and Ranil says the next 3 weeks are going to be tough. Who the hell do we believe?
Labby Tuesday, 07 June 2022 02:46 PM
Earlier in the day the Prime Minister is reported to have said the next three weeks will be difficult as regards fuel availability. And now the Minister says everything will be normal from tomorrow. So when he says "everything will be normal" what he really means is the long queues for fuel will still be there. Isn't that what it means?

"Fuel supply: PM says next three weeks will be tough" - what is this? whose statement is valid?
Ranjan Tuesday, 07 June 2022 03:32 PM
Looks we are heading for a bonanza? Mr. Minister, tomorrow if things don't get to normal, please pack your bag and get lost.

What's going on here?? PN says that the next 3 weeks will be tough and we should use fuel, gas sparingly (nobody wastes these things anyway and even to use sparingly there's nothing available!) And you say something totally different. Maybe you all should create a WhatsApp "Pissu Group" so everyone knows what the other person is saying!
