Fuel quota currently allowed on the National Fuel Pass QR system will be increased from next month's fuel price revision, the Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara said.
He said the decision was taken at the meeting held yesterday afternoon with the CPC finance, commercial and marketing divisions.
He said the CPC cargo plan, finances and distribution plans were also reviewed during the meeting.

Many motorists use less fuel than the quota provided per week, the remaining nonused quantity then retained at petrol sheds to sell at higher price for needy motorists. Is there any mechanism stop this kind of modus operandi.

anyway it is good to have some sort of limit for all imported goods such as fuel, people too much loitering, wasting valuable resources even just for fun

THE QUEUES ARE GONE BECAUSE OF UNAFFORDABLE FUEL PRICES AND LIMITS ON QUANTITY via QR code. Increasing quota doesn't matter much if the asking price is far too high. To pump in a tank full a teacher need to pay half its monthly salary!

The increase in the price of fuel and the rationing has resulted in low consumption. People have made vital adjustments to their usage of fuel. Even if more fuel is made available, people will continue to consume less. Travel only if it is absolutely necessary. Good for the economy and the environment. On the other hand, less businesses for the CPC, fuel transportation and fuel stations. Some of these will soon shut down, more people will be looking for jobs.

While extending the quota , better to reduce petrol /diesel price by at least Rs100/- so that we can buy more petrol. Else it is just a voice cut....

Reduce bus fare by 50% and increase number of buses. Increase prices of fuel further and subsidise buses. One bus can reduce 50 vehicles from the roads. Fuel import cost will reduce by 70%.
