A former Principal and a staff employee of Lalith Ethulathmudali college in Mount Lavinia have been acquitted and discharged from the bribery charges by Colombo High Court without calling the defence evidence.
The former Principal Ariyadasa Gamage and a staff employee Saman were indicted for solicitation of Rs.50000 and accepting Rs.35000 from a father to admit his child to grade 1 of the Mount Lavinia Lalith Ethulathmudali college in 2005.
A team of lawyers led by Senior Counsel Darshana Kuruppu appeared for the Accused.
Assistant Director General of Bribery commission Anoma Sanddapperuma appeared for the prosecution. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
