An abandoned parcel containing 3,885 tablets suspected to be Methamphetamine (Ecstasy), worth over Rs 13 million had been seized at the Central Mail Exchange today.
Customs said the parcel was found by the officers attached to Sri Lanka Customs Narcotics Control Unit.
" During the examination it was found 3,885 tablets of Methamphetamine (Ecstasy) weighing 1485 grams," they said.
Investigation revealed that the parcel which originated from Belgium had been addressed to a resident at Maradana.
The drugs were handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau ( PNB ) and further investigation is being carried out by the Sri Lanka Customs Narcotics Control Unit and the PNB.
