Justice at last. Those responsible should be dealt with and held accountable. Some of the, quite lackadaisically presumed that the attacks may not be that severe even when informed about it while some others let the document informing him in great detail and well in advance of the impending attacks let it wend its way up and down within the same building until it was too late.

Yes, This is unacceptable but at least judicial system has admitted that the leadership has neglected there individuals responsibility. At least it will be good lesson for the present and future leadership of the this country.

So simple. he was and is not fit to govern. The alliance he has formed should be totally ignored by the people. As for the 100mio simple, what has earned is 100 times more

    Ben Thursday, 12 January 2023 06:46 PM

Former president Sirisena is a felon who punished by SC of Srilanka for his ignorance and irresponsible conduct but he lied to courts is ’not informed’is not highlighted, my question is does this person is still entitle perks of former president, I believe he does not

100 million is just a pea nut for Sirisena as he is one of the richest in Sri Lanka as at now next to Mahinda.

Total fine imposed (Rs.311 Million) is nothing and peanuts for these rogues. This amount will be added to our economy by stealing again from the tax payers.

    kunar Friday, 13 January 2023 10:27 AM

Sirisena should promptly give his resignation from leadership of SLFP and also donate wealth accrued to him during his Presidency to those affected by the Easter attack as well those who were affected by the economic crisis.

    sam Friday, 13 January 2023 10:51 AM

He should have been given a sentence as well.

    Sinna Friday, 13 January 2023 11:46 AM

I hope within the next couple of days,MS will follow directive of SC, with out resentment

    sam Friday, 13 January 2023 11:48 AM

    Why no sentence?

    VJ Saturday, 14 January 2023 07:55 AM

This verdict is just to silence the people. 100 million is nothing for him. They did not just kill one or two, besides negligence of responsibility by the head of state is treacherous. Under oath he sweared to protect the people and their constitution. He was conveniently shopping in Singapore allowing the carnage to take place in his country. He did not even delegate his authority during his absence. The SC failed to punish him when he violated the constitution to sack a government. They only reversed the violation. This is not justice, if the SC neglects it’s responsibility, to whom should we complain?

Is it a vicarious liability. In d case of newzealand stabbing incident at a shopping mall by tamil youth once suspected criminal but no police or security officer responsible for that as I can remember.
